I felt compelled to make this today.
“If I only scrape a living, at least it’s a living worth scraping. If there’s no future in it, at least it’s a present worth remembering. For fires of happiness and waves of gratitude… For everything that brought us to that point on earth, at that moment in time, to do something worth remembering; for a photograph, or a scar. I feel genuinely lucky to hand on heart say I love doing what I do. And though I may never be a rich man, if I live long enough, I’ll certainly have a tale or two for the nephews. And I dig the thought of that.” -Dark Side of the Lens

recommended viewing at full size. (click the arrow icon).i’m very please to finally present this video, which i filmed and directed for the super-talented bleu. the haunting, sad, and supremely catchy song was a fabulous canvas for this visual project. the track features some gorgeous strings by the section quartet and lovely background vocals by andy sturmer (of the band jellyfish).
many thanks to the fabulous performers: amber bollinger, heather ann davis, jessica, kirsten parton, sage mears, sugar, terra jo and, of course, bleu.
special thanks to those who helped out along the way: suzy goldish, jessie hail, gina hirsch, justin kirk, eric kissack, kara neko, stacey peck, katie shapiro.
Just found some beautiful photographs from David J. Dowling.
He also directed this music video - “No Such Thing As Love” by Bleu. I love how it’s shot, and it doesn’t hurt that the model and actresses in it are heavenly.
I’m trying to pay more attention to HOW videos and photos are taken. It looks like this was shot on a DSLR camera. I’m guessing either the Canon 7D or 5D Mark II. I’ve no confirmation on that. Any guesses?
Regardless, I’m anxious to keep following DJD.
